I'd like to request a feature for controlling Direct Message permissions in our community.
Current Situation: Direct Messages are currently enabled for all members to communicate with each other.
Requested Feature: The ability to configure Direct Messages so that:
Members can send DMs to administrators/moderators
Members cannot send DMs to other regular members
Essentially, admin-to-member and member-to-admin DMs only
Use Case: This would be perfect for communities that want to maintain controlled, professional communication channels while still allowing members to privately contact support or administration when needed. It would reduce noise and potential inappropriate member-to-member messaging while preserving essential admin communication.
Current Workaround: We're currently exploring alternatives like dedicated contact channels, but a native DM permission setting would be much more elegant and user-friendly.
Would this type of selective DM permission system be possible to implement in a future update?
