Improving Heartbeat's Search and Discussion Organization
Lucile Brenier
Our community is large and very active. While resource sharing is abundant and enriching, it becomes difficult to locate these pieces of information after some time in the mix! Here are a few suggestions to improve the experience:
1) A more intuitive and efficient search engine (currently, as soon as we use two keywords, it seems to lose track).
2) A post tagging system, allowing users to search by category (like a database).
3) The ability for members to have a personal library of posts, where they can save the ones they are interested in

Yes, a 'watch list' would be so useful. And better search options completely agree with. We have over 100 masterclasses now and it's becoming really hard to find what you're looking for. I'd love to see an option for thumbnails for all uploaded documents/videos like when you click on Resources, but for every new document created UNDER each section of the resources.

And I would LOVE to search for posts made by a user! This would help soooo much on the admin side

Yes, the search function is not great. Also it doesn't allow for 2 letter or 1 letter words. Like if you want to find people in TX or IL, you can't search by the state abbreviation. You also can't search for people talking about X (formerly Twitter). That last one is probably a unique problem to our industry, but still a challenge.

Kassy Killey we add people by location into set groups when they join to assist this.

Lea Turner - HoLT Founder do you ask for that location info during the onboarding or do they self select it somehow?
Lea Turner - HoLT Founder
Kassy Killey Yes, we ask for it during onboarding "Location - where you live" and that usually gives us enough information to add them to a group (country/county/state) with a hidden badge. That way when we are hosting events in certain cities, we can set up workflows only to the relevant members. It took a while to go through the hundreds of members when we first set this up, but now we just add them as soon as people join.

A "subject" for each post, similar to what this forum has, would be helpful as well.
