Magic link issues

The magic link causes so many issues for my members. Any chance of just using a good ole email and password to log in? for both desktop and mobile? 🙏🙏🙏

Just my two cents. That "good ole email and password" system is going away for most sites because it is less secure. The "magic link" system might need to be improved but it's the way to go. Some kind of 2-factor system will be required. (The software/code that hackers use to crack "good ole" user/pass systems are just too easy to obtain and use and getting easier every day.) Again, I'm just another user and this is my take on it.

They changed it a few months ago so it's not really a magic link situation any more. It's just asking them to verify their email address by sending them a code. Then after that they never need to log in unless their cache gets cleared or something (in which case, it'll just send them a new code). What are your members getting hung up on? I wonder if some people get confused because of the email subject line.

Bumping this because to me this is the single greatest issue with Heartbeat. We need a proper email/pass login.

It's something they have on their radar (I think there's another feature request for it), but it's a pretty big project for them. I know they said they'd be working on SSO for late this year or early next year. I'm not sure if this is part of that though.
