It would be nice to have courses visible but not accessible to certain groups, with the option for certain groups to upgrade / purchase in order to join the course (even better if I can add a description with a link or details on how to join).

I'd like for all of my courses to be visible to anyone who sees the course page and threads to create a bit FOMO. For example, user buys course 1 but sees that I have other courses and can also see threads used in my paid membership that they can only access if they are subscribed. When they click on a locked course they will be prompted to sign up for course or membership.

You can accomplish this using Heartbeat payments upsells! Courses tied to a paid product with upsells turned on will appear in the course list with a lock icon and an option to purchase the course.

Nick Barba: This seems like it's only available if the payment is going through Heartbeat, is that correct? I use a different payment processor outside of Heartbeat and would like to accept the payment there (so be given the ability to add our own link as the 'purchase' button')

Lucy Reyes: That's right, at the moment we don't have the ability to support upsells for products within Heartbeat if you are not connected with Heartbeat payments. The best workaround would be making an upsell message to pin at the top of a channel that links out to your external payment processor :)
