It would be nice to be able to send emails to community members from the heartbeat platform.

You can send emails to your community members using Workflows!
Go to Settings > Workflows to explore the 2 ways you can send emails to users:
- Automated (send emails automatically when a member completes an action)
- Bulk action (send emails to a specified subset of your community using filters)

It would be great and please add a option that we can customize the platoform emails, only to change the language.

I feel that the fact that people are literally leaving the platform because of this issue should make this important enough to start working on. I'm seriously considering leaving the platform becausse of this issue - engagement is crap because no one is being notified of new threads etc.

I believe this is completed now through Workflows. You could even use a "freemium thread" to get people to sign up and then begin emailing them a campaign. The Email module still needs to be built out more. It is bear bones at the moment but works.

I almost just switched to Podia platform because of this. I would really love to have a email system like Podia. They make it soooo easy for you to do everything in one spot

This is the main reason I almost went with Kajabi. I'd like to be able to not only email all members, but also email by Group, course they're a part of, etc. (And exclude based on the same.) Far easier than using an outside mailing list and trying to keep them tagged properly through Zapier or other connections.

Yes users need to be notified of someone replies to their comment and via email. Many users don't install the app or turn off notifications on the phone.

YES, PLEASE....! Even if, as Alex Kudinov says, it would only pull up group members' email addresses in a "mailto:" and then let other mail clients do the rest... I think this is a huge missing element in HB, and MANY community members are just not as engaged as they could be, because they are not prompted enough to come in, and check things... The Weekly Digest is okay, but the possibility for admins to send their own emails to different groups, as needed, is crucial.

I think we are talking about 2 distinct features here.
- Send an email from the platform - I personally have a use case where I want to send an email to a group. I don't need HB to send an email, I just need a list of people to send the email to. So HB implementation might be as easy as calling a mailto: link with all the emails addresses for the group, letting the default email client taking care of the rest.
- It seems like people want email notifications - that's a very valid concern and I would like to have some posts to be sent to my students directly via all available means, and then have some configuration as to how a student wants to be notified (app alert, notification on the desktop, email, etc.) So I guess this request is about a bigger, "notify the community member," feature than send email, which is a very specific case of a notification.

Yes, I recently joined a mighty networks community and the manager sends a couple of posts they create as emails. It's a great way not to miss major posts.
