SIMPLE Onboarding - CUT the Friction!

We're losing new members in the onboarding process, and it's a huge problem. People are dropping off after entering their email, even with all the instructions and follow-up emails (AND abandoned link workflow active).
The current multi-step process is too cumbersome.
We need a simple, single-step solution. Can we change the flow so a new member only needs to enter their email to join? All other profile information, including the onboarding questions, can be requested later via an email invitation. This will drastically reduce friction and get more people into the community.

Very true, maybe make custom onboarding steps or maybe tutorial step by step with modal who guide new member ?

I'm not sure which are the exact pain points Ryn Sloane and the others are experiencing. I would be very interested to understand better, so please share why the current possibilities are not what you need?
I at least can reduce the onboarding process by removing all the questions and just have them enter email and name and that is it if I want to. Doesn't go much more simple than that.
My pain point is that the onboarding is so dull and hardly customizable.
It would be nice to have more flexibility to curate a different flow. For example I can have them sign up and only afterwards ask the questions to further build their profile.
I would love to be able to add more personalized text to the different parts of the signup.
E.g.: "Welcome {username}! Awesome to have you with us.
For the community to better connect with you consider filling out the following questions. No worries, you can add and edit this information anytime. Feel free to skip this part."
Also the ability to embed other things than a video ( that must be a Youtube, Vimeo, or Loom link. I use other video hosts. Recently got Dadan and really like it as a Loom alternative.)
What do you think?

And I'll add to this (and create a separate feature request for) that I would like to be able to direct members to a welcome page after they sign up. The only page we can direct them to is the "Code of Conduct", which I've now added a sort of welcome text and instructions to, but it's not great because the title of the page cannot be changed to anything else....

I’m highly considering a Thrivecart checkout for this reason. I’m in another group that used Stan Store for checkout and then has an automated process to login after to reduce the drop-off.
