Sliding scale / tiered pricing / pay what you can
in progress
Elinor Predota
All of our products are sliding scale, and that is impossible to implement in Heartbeat as it stands.
I can't even implement tiered pricing, as it's impossible to create more than one product related to one group.
This means we will have to use a really clunky work around that will take us forever (manually entering each new group member as fee waived).
N.B. There is already a request in for this feature, titled "BuyMeACoffee", but it would not allow me to upvote it. So you can automatically add 41 upvotes to this suggestion!

Hi! While we haven't added pay what you can yet, I wanted to share a workaround that you can try with our current feature set: https://help.heartbeat.chat/en/articles/8677901-can-you-make-a-pay-what-you-can-product-in-heartbeat

Hi! I host public events within the platform and want people to be able to join one of 3 tiers-
A. a free public event tier,
B. paid event tier (even if it's sliding scale), or
C. join our membership tier.
Right now, I have to use Thrivecart as a solution, but it would be beautiful to be able to add this in Heartbeat (also, Thrivecart integrates with Kit (formerly ConvertKit), so there's that, too.)

Especially for nonprofits, fixed pricing is not enough and sometimes not appropriate. Support for the model of optional donations where the member specifies the amount would be a great addition to the toolkit.

Name your price pricing options are coming with Payments 2.0 in just a few weeks!

Nick Barba that's brilliant! And perfect timing for me.
Will this be part of the beta rollout that's happening now?

"Pay What You Can" membership ability

A way to set up a "pay what you can" payment system within Heartbeat. So, rather than having a set amount each month, the members could send a custom, flexible amount from month to month.

Can you do "pay what you want" like buymeacoffee? I use Patreon and would love to move all of my people to this space. My individual monthly payments range from $1-500.
Eric Dozier
YES! I was using Patreon (their cut is so high for their feature set), and one of my patrons was contributing $500 a month, while there was a teenager who was giving $1. This feature is much needed here. I'm wondering if we could actually use buymeacoffee as the front end payment method and automate the invitation process in Heartbeat. I hate to suggest that, as it takes the membership percentage away from the platform, but it is a common enough model now that it's a shame that it doesn't exist.

Thank you, Nick Barba - that's not perfect, but very helpful.

Yes, agreed. I have a community where we would not get any adoption of we charge but an elegant CTA for donations on the platform would be awesome.

You may want to edit the title of your request, to something like "Pay what you want / Sliding scale", because I think a lot more than 42 people want this feature, but may not be finding it in the list.
