On the mobile app, I think the DM/Messge icon should be where the "online now" icon is, rather than hidden in the menu.
Lots of my users don't see my messages till I @ them in a comment or post to check their messages.

We've made a massive update to navigation with the new Heartbeat mobile app! You will now find a "Messages" tab at the bottom of your mobile app screen to navigate to your direct messages.
Make sure to update your app from the app store to check out these new updates!
