Feature Requests

It would be great to schedule direct messages to send to users / group chats (instead of a bulk message to entire groups). This could be helpful to follow up with specific members at a given date/time.

The lack of this feature is putting people off the idea of joining such a community or business, in my feedback this week. Ability is urgently needed for all users to manage whether they allow DMs, Calling, Both or Neither, and be able to set this to either All Users or only Administrators can DM, or Call, or Both, or Neither. All users need to be able to feel comfortable that they are in control of who can contact them, when, and how.

It would be great to be able to edit dms just like we have the ability to edit posts made.

My friend and I are transitioning to using DMs in Heartbeat to plan our project instead of using whatsapp. Being able to take a quick photo of something while in the chat, would be amazing!!! Just like any other chat app.

I'm dearly missing the reply-to feature from Discord. I keep having to copy & paste messages to quote what i'm replying to

My DM sidebar is so cluttered because I can't delete any messages.

(First of all, great updates on the new payments rework! 👏🏼) I don't know if this is possible, but I think it'd be great if we could turn on an option to show a messaging bubble at our own checkouts (similar to an Intercom chat) in which potential customers could chat directly with community Administrators, to ask us questions. That chat feature could be the same as the one used inside the community, but separated from the rest. ⬇️ Community chats = conversations from members. ⬆️ Outside chats = conversations with potential customers at checkout (or even our own website if this could be embedded 👀) It also would be great to include some FAQs in that bubble. Again, similar to an Intercom chat, but very basic: just for chatting and showing some frequently asked questions that could help eliminate objections for them to buy. This "DM" feature in the checkout could increase conversions and help Heartbeat users sell more, without needing to use external tools and chat with current and potential customers in the same place. What do you think?

To manage spam-ish accounts, it would be helpful to be able to toggle off individual Users' abilities to DM folks and flag their comments/posts for Admin review before the rest of the community sees it. I'm not sure the Isolated Groups feature would resolve this issue, as not all of the input from these Users is spam. Obviously, if EVERYTHING they post is spam, we can deactivate the account.

I realize that when isolated group members have access to a shared/common channel with other group members, they are now able to send them a DM. I'm happy with both my paid & free (isolated) members having a shared general channel (which operates like a news feed in a facebook group) where everyone can discuss common themes, ask questions, etc. but at the same time, I also want to safeguard my paid members from potential spammy free members. And, this is especially important as my community is primarily meant to be a safe space (for my paid members) but I also want to have a general discussion channel where everyone can come together to discuss important topics (like a news feed on facebook) but with the protection of not being able to message anyone directly (like on FB, you can only DM someone if they are friends with you in the platform).
